Krzysztof Karbownik is a second year PhD student in the department of economic at the Uppsala University and the Uppsala Center for Labor Studies. He is supervised by professor Per-Anders Edin, associate professor Mikael Lindahl and Björn Ockert PhD. Krzysztof graduated with bachelor and master’s degrees from Warsaw School of Economics in Poland. He also spent a year as a graduate student at the University of Arizona in Tucson.

Krzysztof’s research interests revolve largely around empirical labor economics and economics of education. Krzysztof currently works on teacher mobility issues that are central in understanding the education production function. He is also involved in projects that empirically analyze Polish labor market, in particular the role of female labor supply in post-communistic state. During the spring semester of 2012 Krzysztof will be a visiting scholar in the Institute for Policy Research at the Northwestern University in Evanston.
